Stormy Weather. What began as an uneventful and beautiful drive heading out of Moab on Route 128 turned into an experience that I will never forget. Heading north for the trip to Park City, the sky was a beautiful cobalt blue to the east. But as I exited the canyons to the flat landscape around Interstate 70, the sky to the west was an ominous blue and green color. Turning on the radio for a weather report, I learned that a super cell thunderstorm spanning three states was quickly bearing down on me. The lightning, rolling thunder and wall clouds were beautiful and picturesque, but frightening. As I headed north to Salt Lake trying to outrun the storm, I stopped whenever I could to take in the scene. But the storm caught up with me, dropping torrential rains, producing vivid lightning and spawning tornadoes.
