The summer of 2012 has been somewhat of a disappointment for viewing hummingbirds in Columbus. The feeder in my backyard typically attracts the ruby-throateds throughout the summer months, reaching their peak in August. This year, however, sightings have been few and far between.

The same holds true for my experience at Inniswood Metro Gardens. In years past the hummers were plentiful and active. This summer, it has been hit-or-miss.
