I was in the midst of a battle this morning. The ruby throated hummingbirds were dashing in and out of the flower beds, battling one another, dive bombing and chasing one another, defending their territory. On a couple of occasions they came so close I could feel their wings brushing against my arm.

When the battle ended, refueling was a priority!
