The formal gardens at Inniswood Metro Gardens, a metro park of the Columbus Metro Parks system, are lovingly tended by a dedicated park staff and volunteer organization. Their work is enjoyed by countless visitors to the park, this photographer included.

The rather cool and wet weather in the summer of 2014 proved to be ideal conditions for the annuals and perennials planted throughout the park. The flower beds, in all their splendor, attracted the hummingbirds for their daily meals. I was fortunate to photograph them as they popped in and out, tasting the nectar of all the flower varieties before them . . . a smorgasbord.
