Popsicle Toes
Freezing rain blanketed central Ohio for a number of days in mid-January. Normal routines ground to a halt due to layers of ice that limited any thought of venturing far from home. After 3 days, a brief warm-up allowed adventurous souls to leave the warmth of home.
I made a trip to Blendon Woods Metro Park in the hope of getting some abstract shots of the ice-shrouded trees and bushes. Instead, what caught my eye were the birds coping with the ice and cold. The chickadees, especially, were very active and putting on a show. As the light of day started to dim, they were waiting their turns for a chance to visit the feeders.
