The forces of nature have carved the soft, red sandstone of the Colorado Plateau into stunning shapes and curves. The resulting slot canyons vary in size from large, cavernous rooms to narrow passageways just barely wide enough to hike through.
The curves, striations of the sandstone and the orange/red colors provide for fantastic photo opportunities.

This particular image was made in the Upper Antelope Canyon found on the Navajo Nation. The pillars tower over 100 feet in this area. An opening in the earth above allows for shafts of sunlight to illuminate the canyon floor.
